Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 513

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed Allah Almighty (sends down mercy), and His angels, even the ant in its hole and the fish in the sea, pray for mercy upon the one who teaches people goodness."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, al-Qasim Abu Abd al-Rahman, whom Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) declared thiqah (trustworthy), and Imam Ahmad called him da'if (weak).
