Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 5126

Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Asma' bin Abdullah on the day of Ashura and said: "Go to your people, and whoever of them you find has not eaten anything should fast, and whoever has eaten something should also fast (that is, he should not eat anything for the rest of the day)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. The narrator named Ishaq did not live in the time of Sayyiduna Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him).
