Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 5125

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offered the Fajr prayer on the day of Ashura. When he had finished the prayer, he said: "Whoever of you is fasting should complete his fast, and whoever is not fasting should not eat anything now, for today is the day of Ashura."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Hakim bin Jubayr. Abu Zur'ah says: "His standing is truthfulness, if Allah wills." A great deal has been said about him, and he has been accused of lying.
