وَعَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُ بِصَوْمِ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ .
قُلْتُ : لَهُ حَدِيثٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرُ هَذَا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ ، وَتُكُلِّمَ فِي رِوَايَتِهِ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ ، وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَيْسَ مِنْهَا .

Sa'id bin al-Musayyib narrates that he heard Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) say on the pulpit on the day of Ashura: "I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) command that this day be fasted." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: A hadith other than this one is reported in the Sahih from Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Hisham al-Halabi. His narrations from Ibn al-Mubarak have been criticised, and this hadith is not one of them.
