Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 4919

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: We set out with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in Ramadan. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was fasting, and his Companions with him were also fasting. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ended his fast, and his Companions with him also ended their fast, and at that time the one fasting was superior to the one not fasting. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
This narration is recorded in the Sahih, but it does not contain these words of his: "The one fasting was superior to the one not fasting."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Yusuf bin Khalid al-Samti, and he is da'if (weak).
