وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ وِصَالِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ ، قَالُوا : إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ ، قَالَ : " إِنِّي أَظَلُّ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ سَهْلُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ النَّهْرُتِيرِيُّ ; وَلَمْ أَجِدْ مَنْ تَرْجَمَهُ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade observing a continuous fast (sawm al-wisal) of three days. The people said: But you yourself observe the continuous fast. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I spend my time in such a state that my Lord feeds me and He gives me to drink.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Sahl bin Sinan al-Nahrutiri; I have not found anyone who gave his biography.
