Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 4905

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to observe the continuous fast (sawm al-wisal) from one pre-dawn meal (sahari) to the next pre-dawn meal (i.e. he would not eat or drink anything at the time of breaking the fast).
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its chain is hasan (good).
