Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned towards Mount Uhud and said: "By the One in whose Hand is my soul, it would not please me that Mount Uhud were turned into gold for the family of Muhammad, which I spend in the path of Allah, and then on the day I die I have left two dinars of it, except for two dinars which I have set aside to repay a debt owed by me."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy). Ahmad also recorded this report.
