Sayyiduna Abu Malik al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There were three men. One of them had ten dinars, and he gave one dinar of them in charity. The second had ten uqiyahs, and he gave one uqiyah of them in charity. The third had one hundred uqiyahs, and he gave ten uqiyahs of them in charity." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They are all equal in reward; each of them has given a tenth of his wealth in charity. Allah Almighty has said: 'Let the man of means spend according to his means.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Isma'il bin Ayyash, and there is weakness in him.
