عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَ : جَاءَ ثَلَاثَةُ نَفَرٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَانَتْ لِي مِائَةُ دِينَارٍ فَتَصَدَّقْتُ مِنْهَا بِعَشَرَةِ دَنَانِيرَ . وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَانَتْ لِي عَشَرَةُ دَنَانِيرَ فَتَصَدَّقْتُ مِنْهَا بِدِينَارٍ . وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَانَ لِي دِينَارٌ فَتَصَدَّقْتُ بِعُشْرِهِ . قَالَ : فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كُلُّكُمْ فِي الْأَجْرِ سَوَاءٌ ; كُلُّكُمْ تَصَدَّقَ بِعُشْرِ مَالِهِ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ الْحَارِثُ ، وَفِيهِ كَلَامٌ كَثِيرٌ .

Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: Three men came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). One of them said: O Messenger of Allah! I had one hundred dinars, and I gave ten dinars of them in charity. The second said: O Messenger of Allah! I had ten dinars, and I have given one dinar of them in charity. The third said: O Messenger of Allah! O Messenger of Allah! I had one dinar, and I gave a tenth of it in charity. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are all equal in reward; each one of you has given a tenth of his wealth in charity."
