بَابُ الْحَثِّ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ بِقَوْلِهِ : " اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ " وَنَحْوِ ذَلِكَ .

وَعَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى أَعْوَادِ الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ : " اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ ، فَإِنَّهَا تُقِيمُ الْعَوَجَ ، وَتَدْفَعُ مِيتَةَ السُّوءِ ، وَتَقَعُ مِنَ الْجَائِعِ مَوْقِعَهَا مِنَ الشَّبْعَانِ " .
رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْوَسَاوِسِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ جِدًّا .

Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say on the wooden planks of the pulpit: "Try to protect yourselves from Hell, even if by means of half a date, for it straightens what is crooked, wards off an evil death, and fulfils the same need for a hungry person as (it does) for one who is full."
Abu Ya'la and al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Isma'il al-Wasawisi, and he is extremely weak (da'if jiddan).
