Book of Zakah
بَابٌ فِيمَنْ أَدَّى الزَّكَاةَ وَقَرَى الضَّيْفَ .
One who pays zakah and honours his guest
Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 4364

وَعَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ جَارِيَةَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " ثَلَاثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ وُقِيَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِ : مَنْ أَدَّى الزَّكَاةَ ، وَقَرَى الضَّيْفَ ، وَأَعْطَى فِي النَّائِبَةِ " .
Sayyiduna Khalid bin Zayd bin Jariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever has three things has been protected from the miserliness of his own soul: whoever pays zakah, shows hospitality to the guest, and gives (to someone) in times of hardship."
