وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أُتِيَ بِجِنَازَةٍ ، فَقَامَ يُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا ، فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، عَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " انْطَلِقُوا بِصَاحِبِكُمْ فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ " ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : عَلَيَّ دِينُهُ فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ ، فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A bier was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he was about to stand up to offer the funeral prayer for it when the people said: "O Messenger of Allah! He owes a debt." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take your companion away and offer the funeral prayer for him yourselves." A man said: "His debt is my responsibility; please offer his funeral prayer." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and offered the funeral prayer for him.
