وَعَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، أَنَّ عَائِذَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو أَوْصَى أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ أَبُو بَرْزَةَ [ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ ، فَرَكِبَ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ لِيُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ قَصْرَ هِشَامٍ قِيلَ لَهُ : إِنَّهُ قَدْ أَوْصَى أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ أَبُو بَرْزَةَ ] فَرَكِبَ [ دَابَّتَهُ ] رَاجِعًا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Thabit al-Bunani says: A'idh bin Amr made a bequest that Sayyiduna Abu Barzah al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) should lead his funeral prayer. Ubaydullah bin Ziyad rode out to lead his funeral prayer. When he reached the palace of Hisham, he was told: "He made a bequest that Sayyiduna Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) should lead his funeral prayer." So he mounted his riding animal and went back.
