وَعَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ قَالَ : اجْتَمَعَ جَرِيرٌ وَالْأَشْعَثُ فِي جِنَازَةٍ ، فَقَدَّمَ الْأَشْعَثُ جَرِيرًا فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Qays bin Abi Hazim says: Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna al-Ash'ath came together at a funeral. Sayyiduna al-Ash'ath (may Allah be pleased with him) put Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) forward, and he led the funeral prayer.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
