Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: A daughter of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was near her final moments. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) hugged her to himself and held her against his chest, and tears were flowing from his eyes. Sayyidah Umm Ayman (may Allah be pleased with her) also began to weep. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "You are weeping, while the Messenger of Allah is present with you?" Sayyidah Umm Ayman (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Why should I not weep, when the Messenger of Allah is weeping too?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am not weeping; rather, this is mercy. I looked at her in this state, while her soul was departing."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its chain contains a narrator, Ata' bin al-Sa'ib, who suffered from confusion in his memory (ikhtilat) (that is, he was declared da'if (weak) because of his confusion).
