Abu al-Rabi' narrates: I attended a funeral with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both). I heard the sound of a person crying out loudly. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) sent word to him and had him silenced. I asked: "O Abu Abd al-Rahman, why did you have him silenced?" He said: "The reason is that the deceased is hurt by this (weeping) until the deceased enters the grave."
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Abu Shu'bah al-Tahhan, and he is matruk (abandoned).
