وَعَنْ سَمُرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَأَحْمَدُ ، وَفِيهِ عُمَرُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ كَلَامٌ ، وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ .

Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The deceased is punished because of the wailing done over him."
Al-Bazzar and Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains Umar bin Ibrahim al-Abdi; there is criticism about him, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
