وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ الْكَافِرُ مِنْ كُفَّارِ قُرَيْشٍ يَمُوتُ فَيَبْكِيهِ أَهْلُهُ فَيَقُولُونَ : الْمُطْعِمُ الْجِفَانَ الْمُقَاتِلُ الَّذِي . . فَيَزِيدُهُ اللَّهُ عَذَابًا بِمَا يَقُولُونَ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، وَفِيهِ كَلَامٌ .

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her), the honoured wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A disbeliever from among the disbelievers of Quraysh died. His family were weeping over him and saying: 'The feeder of others, who fed them from great bowls, and the fighter who was such-and-such!' So Allah Almighty increased his punishment because of what they said."
