Al-Hasan al-Basri narrates: Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) fell unconscious, and his sister began saying: "Alas, the mountain!" or some other word like it. When he came to, he said: "All day today you have kept hurting me." She said: "May grief befall me if I hurt you!" Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "An angel who rebuked severely, whenever you said 'He is such-and-such', kept saying: 'Are you like that?' and I would say: 'No.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Al-Hasan al-Basri did not live in the time of Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him).
