وَعَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " لَنْ يُبْتَلَى عَبْدٌ بِشَيْءٍ أَشَدَّ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الشِّرْكِ بِاللَّهِ ، وَلَنْ يُبْتَلَى عَبْدٌ بِشَيْءٍ أَشَدَّ مِنْ ذَهَابِ بَصَرِهِ ، وَلَنْ يُبْتَلَى عَبْدٌ بِذَهَابِ بَصَرِهِ فَيَصْبِرُ إِلَّا غُفِرَ لَهُ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ جَابِرٌ الْجُعْفِيُّ وَفِيهِ كَلَامٌ كَثِيرٌ وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A servant is not tried with any trial harder upon him than associating partners with Allah, and a servant is not tried with anything harder than the loss of his sight; and whenever a servant is tried with the loss of his sight and he is patient, he is forgiven."
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Jabir al-Ju'fi, about whom there is much criticism, and he has also been declared trustworthy.
