Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 3841

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "After the loss of his religion, a servant has not been tried with any trial harder than the loss of his sight. Whoever is tried with respect to his sight and is patient until he comes into the presence of Allah Almighty (that is, until he dies), then when he comes into the presence of Allah, he will have no reckoning to give."
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Jabir al-Ju'fi, about whom there is much criticism, and he has also been declared trustworthy.
