بَابٌ فِيمَنْ يُبْتَلَى .

وَعَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِذَا أَحَبَّ اللَّهُ قَوْمًا ابْتَلَاهُمْ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ وَفِيهِ كَلَامٌ .

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When Allah Almighty loves a people, He puts them to trial."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, and there is criticism (kalam) regarding him.
