بَابٌ فِي قَوْلِهِ : لَا يَزْنِي الزَّانِي حِينَ يَزْنِي وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ، وَنَحْوِ هَذَا .
The saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The fornicator is not a believer while he commits fornication", and similar sayings

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " لَا يَزْنِي الزَّانِي حِينَ يَزْنِي وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ، وَلَا يَسْرِقُ حِينَ يَسْرِقُ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ، وَلَا يَشْرَبُ الْخَمْرَ حِينَ يَشْرَبُهَا وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ، وَلَا يَنْتَهِبُ نُهْبَةً ذَاتَ شَرَفٍ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ . قُلْتُ : حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي الصَّحِيحِ وَغَيْرِهِ بِاخْتِصَارٍ ، وَحَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ كَذَلِكَ .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ . قُلْتُ : حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي الصَّحِيحِ وَغَيْرِهِ بِاخْتِصَارٍ ، وَحَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ كَذَلِكَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrate that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The fornicator is not a believer while he commits fornication; the thief is not a believer while he steals; the drinker of wine is not a believer while he drinks it; and the one who plunders something of value is not a believer while he plunders it."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. (Allamah Haythami says:) I say: The hadith of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) is transmitted in abridged form in the Sahih and elsewhere, and the narration of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah is likewise.
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir.
