Book of Prayer
بَابٌ فِيمَنْ فَاتَتْهُ الْجُمُعَةُ 3172 عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّهُ فَاتَتْهُ الْجُمُعَةُ فَأَمَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنْ يَصَّدَّقَ بِدِينَارٍ رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَقَالَ : لَا يُرْوَى عَنْ جَابِرٍ إِلَّا بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَالْمَشْهُورُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ سَمُرَةَ قُلْتُ : وَحَدِيثُ جَابِرٍ فِيهِ سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ وَقَدْ وَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ .

وَعَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " هَلَاكُ أُمَّتِي فِي الْكِتَابِ وَاللَّبَنِ " قَالُوا : وَمَا الْكِتَابُ وَاللَّبَنُ ؟ قَالَ : " يَتَعَلَّمُونَ الْقُرْآنَ فَيَتَأَوَّلُونَهُ عَلَى غَيْرِ تَأْوِيلِهِ ، وَيُحِبُّونَ اللَّبَنَ فَيَدَعُونَ الْجَمَاعَاتِ وَالْجُمَعَ وَيَبْدُونَ " رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى وَأَحْمَدُ وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ وَقَالَ أَبُو قُبَيْلٍ : لَمْ أَسْمَعْ مِنْ عُقْبَةَ إِلَّا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The destruction of my Ummah will be because of the Book and milk." The people asked: "What is the matter with the Book and milk?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "People will learn the Book and then interpret it wrongly; and people will love milk, so they will abandon the congregational prayer and Jumu'ah and take up life in the desert."
Imam Abu Ya'la and Imam Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah. Abu Qabil says: I heard only this hadith from Sayyiduna Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him).
