Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Dimam bin Tha'labah came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), shall I not treat you with ruqyah?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "All praise belongs exclusively to Allah Almighty. We praise Him and seek His help, and we seek refuge with Allah Almighty from the evil of our own selves and from the evils of our deeds. Whomever Allah Almighty guides, none can lead him astray; and whomever He leaves astray, none can guide him. And I bear witness that there is no deity besides Allah Almighty, and that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is His servant and His Messenger." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: After this he mentioned the hadith, which will come in full in the chapter on virtues, if Allah wills. There is also a hadith narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the incident of Dimad, which is recorded in the Sahih; but here the man's name is mentioned with "m", that is, Dimam.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
