بَابٌ فِيمَنِ اقْتَصَرَ عَلَى الْوُضُوءِ .

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - رُبَّمَا اغْتَسَلَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَرُبَّمَا تَرَكَهُ أَحْيَانًا .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَفِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ وَلَكِنَّهُ أَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ أَحْمَدُ وَقَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ : ضَعِيفٌ وَلَكِنَّهُ صَدُوقٌ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَفِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ وَلَكِنَّهُ أَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ أَحْمَدُ وَقَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ : ضَعِيفٌ وَلَكِنَّهُ صَدُوقٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would sometimes take a ritual bath on Friday, and occasionally he would also leave it.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Mu'awiyah al-Naysaburi, and he is da'if (weak), although Imam Ahmad praised him. Amr bin Ali said: He is da'if (weak), but he is saduq (truthful).
