Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 3041

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever washes his head and takes a ritual bath (ghusl), comes close (to the imam), goes early and listens attentively to the sermon, for every step he takes he receives the reward of a year of standing in prayer (that is, offering voluntary prayers) and of fasting." (Al-Haythami says:) I say: Abu Dawud has recorded two hadiths from this Companion other than this one.
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
