It is reported about Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when he was to offer two prayers together during a journey, he would delay the Zuhr prayer to the end of its time and offer it, and offer the Asr prayer at the beginning of its time; he would offer the Maghrib prayer at the end of its time and the Isha prayer at the beginning of its time, and he would say: "This is how the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did it when he offered two prayers together during a journey."
Imam al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Ishaq, and he is thiqah (trustworthy), but he is a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain).
