Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When the imam gives the salam and a man has some need, he should not wait for the imam to turn his face towards the people after giving the salam, because the prayer ends with giving the salam. It was the practice of Sayyiduna Abdullah that when he gave the salam, he would get up at once, or change his place, or turn his face towards the people.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
