وَعَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ - عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ قَالَ : " فُرِجَ سَقْفُ بَيْتِي وَأَنَا بِمَكَّةَ ، فَنَزَلَ جِبْرِيلُ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَفَرَجَ صَدْرِي ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَهُ مِنْ مَاءِ زَمْزَمَ ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ بِطَسْتٍ مُمْتَلِئٍ حِكْمَةً وَإِيمَانًا ، فَأَفْرَغَهَا فِي صَدْرِي ، ثُمَّ أَطْبَقَهُ ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَ بِيَدِي فَعَرَجَ بِي إِلَى السَّمَاءِ ، فَلَمَّا جَاءَ السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا فَاسْتَفْتَحَ قَالَ : مَنْ هَذَا ؟ قَالَ : جِبْرِيلُ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - . قَالَ : هَلْ مَعَكَ أَحَدٌ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، مَعِي مُحَمَّدٌ . قَالَ : أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، فَافْتَحْ ، فَلَمَّا عَلَوْنَا السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا إِذَا رَجُلٌ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ أَسْوِدَةٌ ، وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ أَسْوِدَةٌ ، فَإِذَا نَظَرَ قِبَلَ يَمِينِهِ تَبَسَّمَ ، وَإِذَا نَظَرَ قِبَلَ يَسَارِهِ بَكَى . قَالَ : مَرْحَبًا بِالنَّبِيِّ الصَّالِحِ وَالِابْنِ الصَّالِحِ . قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِجِبْرِيلَ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : مَنْ هَذَا ؟ قَالَ : هَذَا آدَمُ ، وَهَذِهِ الْأَسْوِدَةُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَشِمَالِهِ نَسَمُ بَنِيهِ ، فَأَهْلُ الْيَمِينِ هُمْ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَالْأَسْوِدَةُ الَّتِي عَنْ شِمَالِهِ أَهْلُ النَّارِ ، فَإِذَا نَظَرَ قِبَلَ يَمِينِهِ ضَحِكَ ، وَإِذَا نَظَرَ قِبَلَ شِمَالِهِ بَكَى . قَالَ : ثُمَّ عَرَجَ بِي جِبْرِيلُ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - حَتَّى جَاءَ السَّمَاءَ الثَّانِيَةَ ، فَقَالَ لِخَازِنِهَا : افْتَحْ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ خَازِنُهَا مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ خَازِنُ سَمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا ، فَفَتَحَ لَهُ " .
رَوَاهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ مِنْ زِيَادَاتِهِ عَلَى أَبِيهِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: "The roof of my house was opened while I was in Makkah. Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) descended, opened my chest and then washed it with Zamzam water. Then he brought a basin filled with wisdom and faith, poured it into my chest and then closed it. Then he took my hand and ascended with me towards the sky. When we came to the lowest heaven, he asked for the gate to be opened. It was asked (from the other side): Who is it? He replied: Jibril. It was asked (from the other side): Is anyone with you? He replied: Yes! With me is Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was asked (from the other side): Has he been sent for? Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) replied: Yes! So the gate was opened. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: When we came to the lowest heaven, there was a man there; on his right were many people and on his left were many people. When he looked to his right he would smile, and when he looked to his left he would weep. He said (addressing the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)): Welcome to the righteous Prophet and the righteous son! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: I asked Jibril: Who is this? He said: This is Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him), and the people on his right and on his left are the souls of his descendants. Those on the right are the people of Paradise and those on the left are the people of Hell. When he looks to the right he laughs, and when he looks to the left he weeps. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says: Then Jibril took me up until he reached the second heaven, and he said to its gatekeeper: Open the gate! Its gatekeeper held the same exchange that the gatekeeper of the lowest heaven had held, and then he too opened the gate."
Abdullah recorded this narration in his "Zawa'id" on the "Musnad" of his father (Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal), and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
