بَابٌ الْإِمَامُ ضَامِنٌ وَالْمُؤَذِّنُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ .

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " الْإِمَامُ ضَامِنٌ وَالْمُؤَذِّنُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ ، اللَّهُمَّ أَرْشِدِ الْأَئِمَّةَ ، وَاغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤَذِّنِينَ " قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَقَدْ تَرَكْتَنَا نَتَنَافَسُ فِي الْأَذَانِ بَعْدَكَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِنَّهُ يَكُونُ بَعْدِي - أَوْ بَعْدَكُمْ - قَوْمٌ سَفَلَتُهُمْ مُؤَذِّنُوهُمْ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ كُلُّهُمْ مُوَثَّقُونَ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The imam is a guarantor and the mu'adhdhin is a trustee. O Allah, guide the imams and forgive those who give the adhan." The people submitted: "O Messenger of Allah, you have left us in such a state that after you we will compete with one another over the adhan." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "After me (the narrator is unsure whether the words were:) after you, there will come people whose mu'adhdhins will be their foolish ones."
