Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let me not find a situation in which any one of you is prevented from coming to me at the Pond, and I say: 'These are people from among my companions,' and it is said: 'You do not know what new things they introduced after you.'" Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah, pray to Allah Almighty that He does not make me one of them." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are not one of them."
Al-Tabarani recorded it with two chains; the narrators of one of them are the narrators of the Sahih, except Abu Abdullah al-Ash'ari, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
