Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) transmits this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Some people will come before me at the Pond who stayed with me and saw me, until, when they come before me and I see them, they will be held back before reaching me. I will certainly say: 'O my Lord, my companions, my companions!' It will be said: 'You do not know what new things they introduced after you.'"
Ahmad recorded it with two chains; the narrators of one of them are the narrators of the Sahih, except Ali bin Zayd, who has been declared trustworthy despite the weakness in him.
Al-Tabarani recorded it with various chains, and the narrators of one of them are like the narrators of Ahmad.
