Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Some people who were with me will come before me. When their heads appear before me, they will be held back before reaching me. I will say: 'O my Lord, my companions, my companions!' It will be said: 'You do not know what new things they introduced after you.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, al-Hakam bin Abd al-Malik, who is da'if (weak).
