Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 18154

Abu Wa'il reports about Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he climbed Mount Safa, then took hold of his tongue and said: "O tongue! Speak good and you will gain; remain silent from evil and you will be safe, before you come to regret, before you come to regret." Then he said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Most of the sins of the son of Adam come from his tongue."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
