Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 18153

Isma'il bin Abi Khalid relates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) advised his son Abu Ubaydah with three things: "O my son! I urge you to have taqwa (fear) of Allah; let your house be spacious enough for you; weep over your sins; and restrain your tongue (that is, keep it under control)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it with two chains, and the narrators of one of them are the narrators of the Sahih, except Abd al-Malik bin Umar, who says: "The family of Abdullah told me that Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) gave this advice to his son."
