Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were travelling with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (and we fell asleep). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not wake up until the heat of the sun troubled him between his shoulders. When he woke up, the people stayed where they were. He had the iqamah called and stepped forward, then he led them in prayer. Then he said: "When one of you is asleep and his eyes overpower him, let him do like this, for Allah Almighty takes the souls at the time of their death, and the one that does not die, during its sleep."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Ja'far bin al-Zubayr, and he is da'if (weak).
