Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1815

Sayyidah Maymunah bint Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that she said: "O Messenger of Allah! Give us a ruling about a man who forgets the prayer until the sun rises or sets; what will its expiation be?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When he remembers it, he should offer it and offer the prayer well, and he should perform ablution and do it well. That is its expiation."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Kabir; its chain contains majhul (unknown) narrators.
