Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 18091

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "I do a deed which someone comes to know about, and that pleases me." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will have two rewards: the reward of doing it in secret and the reward of doing it openly."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
