وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ : - لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ - قَالَ : " صَلَاحُ أَوَّلِ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ بِالزَّهَادَةِ وَالْيَقِينِ ، وَهَلَاكُهَا بِالْبُخْلِ وَالْأَمَلِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ وُثِّقُوا عَلَى ضَعْفٍ فِي بَعْضِهِمْ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: (The narrator says: I think he reported it as a marfu' hadith, that is, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:) "The soundness of the first part of this Ummah will be through detachment from the world and certainty, and its ruin will be through miserliness and (long) hopes."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy, although some of them have weakness.
