وَعَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْأَزْدِيِّ : أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : أَوْصِنِي . قَالَ : " أُوصِيكَ أَنْ تَسْتَحْيِيَ مِنَ اللَّهِ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - كَمَا تَسْتَحْيِي مِنَ الرَّجُلِ الصَّالِحِ مِنْ قَوْمِكَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ وُثِّقُوا عَلَى ضَعْفٍ فِي بَعْضِهِمْ .
Sayyiduna Sa'id bin Yazid al-Azdi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he requested the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Give me some advice." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I advise you to feel shame before Allah Almighty just as you feel shame before a righteous man of your people."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy, although some of them have weakness.
