وَعَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " قَالَ اللَّهُ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - : مَنْ آذَى لِي وَلِيًّا فَقَدِ اسْتَحَلَّ مُحَارَبَتِي ، وَمَا تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيَّ عَبْدِي بِمِثْلِ أَدَاءِ فَرِيضَتِي ، وَإِنَّهُ لَيَتَقَرَّبُ إِلَيَّ بِالنَّوَافِلِ حَتَّى أُحِبَّهُ ، فَإِذَا أَحْبَبْتُهُ كُنْتُ رِجْلَهُ الَّتِي يَمْشِي بِهَا ، وَيَدَهُ الَّتِي يَبْطِشُ بِهَا ، وَلِسَانَهُ الَّذِي يَنْطِقُ بِهِ ، وَقَلْبَهُ الَّذِي يَعْقِلُ بِهِ ، وَإِنْ سَأَلَنِي أَعْطَيْتُهُ ، وَإِنْ دَعَانِي أَجَبْتُهُ ، وَمَا تَرَدَّدْتُ عَنْ شَيْءٍ أَنَا فَاعِلُهُ كَتَرَدُّدِي عَنْ مَوْتِهِ ، وَذَلِكَ أَنَّهُ يَكْرَهُ الْمَوْتَ وَأَنَا أَكْرَهُ مَسَاءَتَهُ " . رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَفِيهِ يُوسُفُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ السَّمْتِيُّ ، وَهُوَ كَذَّابٌ .
Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), the honoured wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Allah Almighty says: Whoever harms a friend (wali) of Mine has made war against Me lawful. My servant does not draw near to Me through anything like the performance of the obligations I have prescribed, and the servant draws near to Me through voluntary deeds until I love him. When I love him, I become his foot with which he walks, his hand with which he grasps, his tongue with which he speaks, and his heart with which he understands. If he asks of Me, I give him; if he supplicates to Me, I answer him. I do not hesitate about doing anything as much as I hesitate concerning the death of My servant: he dislikes death, and I dislike whatever displeases him."
