وَعَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " انْظُرْ أَرْفَعَ رَجُلٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ " . قَالَ : فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ عَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ ، قُلْتُ : هَذَا ، قَالَ لِي : " انْظُرْ أَوْضَعَ رَجُلٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ " . قَالَ : فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ عَلَيْهِ أَخْلَاقٌ . قُلْتُ : هَذَا ! قَالَ : فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " لَهَذَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ أَخْيَرُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ مِلْءِ الْأَرْضِ مِثْلِ هَذَا " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ بِأَسَانِيدَ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ ، وَأَحَدُ إِسْنَادَيِ الْبَزَّارِ وَالطَّبَرَانِيِّ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Look and see who is the person of the most prominent standing in the mosque." (That is, the one who looks wealthy.) I looked, and there was a man wearing a fine suit of clothes (hullah). I said: This one. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Look and see who is the person of the lowliest standing in the mosque." (That is, the one who looks poorest.) I looked, and there was a man whose clothes were worn and tattered. I said: This one. The narrator says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection, this (poor) man will be better in the sight of Allah Almighty than enough people like that (rich) man to fill the earth."
