وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِنَّ لِلَّهِ ضَنَائِنَ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ ، يُحْيِيهِمْ فِي عَافِيَةٍ ، فَإِذَا تَوَفَّاهُمْ تَوَفَّاهُمْ إِلَى جَنَّتِهِ ، أُولَئِكَ تَمُرُّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْفِتَنُ كَقِطَعِ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ ، وَهُمْ فِيهَا فِي عَافِيَةٍ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ مُسْلِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحِمْصِيُّ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَقَدْ جَهِلَهُ الذَّهَبِيُّ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ وُثِّقُوا .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Among Allah Almighty's creation there are some special servants of His whom He grants a life of well-being, and when He gives them death, He takes them to Paradise. These are the people past whom trials go by like pieces of the dark night, yet they remain in well-being during those trials."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Muslim bin Abdullah al-Himsi, and I do not know him; Imam al-Dhahabi declared him majhul (unknown). The remaining narrators of this report have been declared trustworthy.
