Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah Almighty have mercy on the person who hears my words and conveys them to another. There are three things about which the heart of a Muslim does not harbour deceit: devoting one's deeds sincerely to Allah Almighty, sincere counsel to the rulers of the Muslims, and holding fast to their (the Muslims') community, for their supplication encompasses even those who are absent. Whoever's intention is the world, Allah Almighty will place his poverty before his eyes and scatter his affairs, and nothing of the world will come to him except the share that is destined for him. And whoever's intention is the Hereafter, Allah Almighty will place his contentment in his heart, suffice him in his affairs, and the world will come to him humbled." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Ibn Majah recorded part of this narration.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
