وَعَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِنَّ لِلْقُلُوبِ صَدَأً كَصَدَأِ الْحَدِيدِ ، وَجَلَاؤُهَا الِاسْتِغْفَارُ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَزَادَ فِيهِ : قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَمَا جَلَاؤُهَا ؟ قَالَ : " الِاسْتِغْفَارُ " . وَفِيهِ الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَهُوَ كَذَّابٌ .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Just as iron gets rust, hearts also get rust, and the way to polish the hearts is seeking forgiveness."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and in it he recorded these additional words: "The people said: O Messenger of Allah! What is the way to polish them (the hearts)? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Seeking forgiveness." The chain of this report contains a narrator, al-Walid bin Salamah al-Tabarani, who is a kadhdhab (liar).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and in it he recorded these additional words: "The people said: O Messenger of Allah!
