Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: My father said to me: "Shall I not teach you a supplication which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me? He said: 'Sayyiduna Isa (peace be upon him) taught it to his disciples. If you owed a debt like Mount Uhud and then recited this supplication, Allah Almighty would have it paid off on your behalf.'" Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I replied: "Yes!" He said: "Recite this:
'Allahumma farij al-hamm, wa kashif al-karb, mujib da'wat al-mudtarr, Rahman al-dunya wa ilah al-akhirah, anta Rahmani farhamni birahmatin tughnini biha amman siwak'
(O Allah! O Reliever of worry! O Remover of distress! O Answerer of the call of the one in desperate need! O Most Merciful of this world (and God of the Hereafter)! You are my Most Merciful, so have mercy on me with a mercy by which You make me free of need of everyone besides You.)"
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, al-Hakam bin Abdullah al-Ayli, who is matruk (abandoned).
