Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should ever say: 'O Allah! Prompt me with my argument', for the disbeliever is prompted with his argument. Rather, a person should recite:
'Allahumma laqqini hujjat al-iman inda al-mawt'
(O Allah! Prompt me with the argument of faith at the time of death.)"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah, and his hadith is hasan (fair); the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
