Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the mosque until, when the sun rose, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out, and I followed him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Come along with us, so that we may visit Fatimah bint Muhammad." Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We went to her house, and she was asleep, lying down. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Fatimah! What kind of time is this for sleeping?" She replied: "I have had a fever since last night." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What became of the supplication I taught you?" She replied: "I forgot it." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Recite this:
'Ya Hayyu ya Qayyum, birahmatika astaghith, aslih li sha'ni kullah, wa la takilni ila nafsi tarfata ayn, wa la ila ahadin min al-nas'
(O Ever-Living! O Self-Sustaining! By Your mercy I seek help: set right all my affairs for me, and do not entrust me to myself even for the blink of an eye, nor to any one of the people.)"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. It is narrated through Salamah bin Harb bin Ziyad al-Kilabi, from Abu Mudrik, from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him). Al-Dhahabi mentioned Salamah in Mizan al-I'tidal and said: He is majhul (unknown), like his teacher Abu Mudrik. Ibn Hibban declared Salamah thiqah (trustworthy) and mentioned this hadith from him in his biography. In Mizan al-I'tidal it is mentioned: Abu Mudrik, Imam al-Daraqutni (may Allah have mercy on him) says: He is matruk (abandoned). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I do not know whether this refers to this same Abu Mudrik or someone else. The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
